Oh Nothing, We Survived
Arizona is not known for having tornadoes although a few have been spotted around the state just this year. However, ...
It has been reported that a tornado did hit here earlier this week and where they have described is totally within the exact proximity of our property. The extremely strong wind, the simultaneous lightning strikes and thunder, the nickel-sized hail hitting the windows so hard that I thought the glass might break, Blazes' sixth-sense behavior, the violent 'rivers' that suddenly formed all around us, the extremely loud volume of everything happening at once, all of it made me wonder at the time, is this a tornado? Yes, that "one for the books" monsoon storm I talked about the other day, well that'd be it. Yikes! Those super strong winds being quite scary did cause me to have sense enough to stay in the center of the house away from all windows. No damage, our house is built like a fortress, although the deck furniture did all pile up against one end of the deck. Wow, that was my first ever tornado! No worries, all is well, carry on. (Photo is from yesterday's way less violent rainstorm.)

Waffle Cravings
Boil white potatoes. When done, transfer to an already HOT waffle iron. Put a bunch of shredded cheese on top. Squish and wait for goodness to develop! Add toppings. That was yummy!

Epic Storm
Another spontaneous waterfall...
We've seen this happen before, but yesterday's 20-minute monsoon storm was definitely one for the books. Forty-foot rivers ran across the property headed for the canyon. All is calm this morning.. like nothing happened. The sun is shining bright as usual but there will be a monsoon repeat this afternoon. Afterall, tis the season. Yay for solar, everyone in town is without power today LOL.

Deluge!
Ohmygoodness! It's a'stormin'! After the major part of the downpour, I dodged rain, lingering thunder and lightning strikes to show you the amazing spontaneous waterfall just steps from our deck. Oh my! Now I'm soaked!
